jubilee

“That old September feeling, left over from school days, of summer passing, vacation nearly done, obligations gathering, books and football in the air ... Another fall, another turned page: there was something of jubilee in that annual autumnal beginning, as if last year's mistakes had been wiped clean by summer.”

― Wallace Stegner, Angle of Repose

I discover that I am drawn to capture feelings rather than perfection with my camera. I seek out beauty along with moments of deep love. I think about what might jog my memory in years to come - dinner on the deck as summer fades, along with the glow of the black eyed susan’s in the neighbors garden. I like the idea of wiping the slate clean in the fall before the harshness of winter sets in, but mostly I love the word jubilee and what it sparks inside of me.
